Viticulture

   Hungary has 22 wine regions on 84 000
   hectar (212,000 acre, nearly 1% of its
   whole territory).

   The best white wines come from
   Balaton, Somló, Eger and Tokaj. 
   The Tokaj wine is renowned all over  
   the world.

   The best red-wines can be tasted in Eger
   (Egri Bikavér) or in South-Transdanubia
   (Szekszárd, Villány).

    Egri Bikavér (Bull’s Blood of Eger) is a
    cuvée of several quality red-wines
    vintaged in Eger.
 

   Wine-tasting-tours throughout the country are nice experiences along with contacts
 of people and their landscape.
