One-day excursions

Balaton round tour

   Europe's and Hungary's largest    
   warm water lake of 595 km2 in
   Transdanubia. It is a popular
   excursion and resort destination.     
   The shallow southern shores are  
   sought  by families with children
   while the deeper northern area is
   sought by those engaging in water
   sports. Balatonfüred and Tihany
   are parts of the oldest area on the
   Northern side.
 

  Programme:

  - Arrival at Siófok (South shore)
  - Crossing to Tihany by ferry (North 
    shore)
  - Visit of the old abbey church (11th
    century)
  - Walk to Echo hill, panorama of  
    Lake Balaton
  - Trip to Balatonfüred to the oldest
    resort area on the northern side
  - Walk on the Tagore promenade and  
    in the town center
 

Steppe program (Puszta)

  Trip to the Great Hungarian Plane
 

  - Journey to Kecskemét, the main town  
    of the puszta region.
  - A short walk in Kecskemét (Great  
    Church, City Hall, former Synagogue,  
   „Cifra”-Palace)
  - Further to the „Puszta”or steppe which
    is a natural protection area.
  - Welcome with pastry and apricot  
     brandy
  - Horse show
  - Carriage Riding
  - Lunch in a traditional inn (Csárda)
    (Gulash Soup, plate of meats, wine)
  - Traditional hospitality
 

Danube Bend

   This is the most important tourist area  
   next to Budapest with scenic landscape
   and with rich history along the right side
   of the Danube.

   Popular destination are: Szentendre an
   artist’s village with many exhibition
   halls, Visegrad with the high castle and   
   panorama on the Danube Bend, 
   Esztergom with Hungary’s largest
   catholic Church on Castle Hill
